I silently stood. He gave his attention back to the net. I started towards him, but I was jerked back. "What are you doing!" I came face to face with blue and hazel eyes. "Uh. Sorry. What?" I felt warm. Marina glanced over at the men. "Diamond! No! We don't do that anymore," Marina whispered. "I wasn't going to-" Was I? "I know it's a hard adjustment. But... We just have to draw our attention to something else.. Like finding shelter. Okay?" I looked down, wishing I was home.
"Marina. Why couldn't we just stay? I don't understand anything." Marina held my hand. "I know. We'll be better off eating human food than nothing. It's really not that
We had a long swim to get to Florida. Which meant messy shifting again. We walked until we found a small market buzzing with life. Marina went to search for human food, while I sat on a creaky bench. I lost her in the crowd. She was taking so long. I started to walk and look around...Until I saw a familiar face wearing white. "Syrena?" I wondered aloud as we met eyes. She ran up and hugged me. "Diamond?! Where - Why are you here? Is the bay alright? You're alone?!" She looked around. "Uh, no. I have Marina. Tamara said to leave the bay and live here until we were healthy." I hated saying that out loud. A man suddenly held Syrena's arms. OH. P
3 days later, Marina was ready. Which meant Diamond had no choice. They swam close to shore. Marina went first. She lifted herself out of the water and her blue tail morphed into tan legs. She helped Diamond up. Diamond braced herself for pain, but only felt numb. Her fluid tail, membrane, and fins were gone when she looked down. Legs looked so weird. And they had no clothes. Marina stood. It was easy to tell she's done this before, but not in a while. Diamond watched as she struggled to walk to where Marina had been drying clothes out in the sand. Diamond looked at them unhappily. She held onto the wood of the harbor and tried to lift hersel
Syrena and Diamond hugged, ignoring the chaos around them. "I'm sorry, but I can't stay. I was just passing by to catch fish." Syrena swam off. She never stayed long. Diamond sat on a rock, wondering how Philip could overlook her sisters. Later, Tamara called a meeting. She'd noticed it too. "Prey is running low. Many do not believe in us. Some should stay here and guard the bay, others should go to land and save themselves. Maybe until you are healthy again. We are too think and weak. We can't lose any more of us." Everyone was silent. They agreed, although they didn't want to. Diamond wanted stay and guard, but she was 15. One of the younge

Fishermen slowly threw the net into the cool, clear water. Diamond looked over at Marina, having the same idea. "You want to lure them?", Marina asked, her hazel and blue eyes not taken off the prey. "I'm not the best singer, but I clould use practice," Diamond admitted. She drifted up towards the surface. She emerged, frightening the young men. "Hello", she put on her most innocent face. "Are you .. I thought it was a myth", the shorter one said. Diamond showed her blue-silver fin. "You're gorgeous", the other blanched. Diamond signaled Marina with her tail. Marina had a few other mermaids with her. They leisurely drifted up, showing only th
My mind slipped through the ice crack. I was submerged in cool darkness. I couldn't scream or move. I froze and let myself fall. I've experienced this emotion before. It's when earth crumbles, when lightening strikes, when the animal is locked in the cage. When you cry out, but no one will hear. When you fall and no one will save you.

So.. haven't been here in a while. For a while, I was grounded because of bad grades, but things got better. Then, I was ungrounded. And I've been ungrounded for a long time. Sorry Lauren and everyone else. I've been a bad internet friend. Hopefully I'll be more active. But I don't really like my account. I'm cringing and am pretty embarrassed at my older journal entries. And art. But yeah, I'm gonna try to be active. But I'm going to be busy this week. I think I'm going to delete or redo most of my journals
